About Us
The acronym DAGLO stands for Desi Americans of Gujarati Language Origin. In Gujarati, it refers to a traditional long overcoat, often worn by performers, symbolizing a deep connection to cultural heritage and artistic expression.
DAGLO is a non-profit organization established in Milpitas, California, and now has Public Charity Status as a 509(a)(2) non-profit organization. The donors will be provided with tax-deductible donation receipts, upon request.
For the past several years, the late Shri Rajabhai Solanki took the lead in organizing and guiding events alongside the DAGLO team. After his passing in November 2023, the DAGLO team, with his blessings and the support of many Gujarati leaders from the Bay Area, continued the legacy by carrying the torch forward.
In April 2024, the team presented a live musical program to celebrate the beauty of Gujarati literature and honor the legacies of both the late Shri Rajabhai Solanki and the late Dr. Pratapbhai Pandya.
In November 2024, the team presented a Gujarati Sugam Sangeet concert celebrating the rich legacy of Gujarati culture through soul-stirring melodies performed by our talented local Bay Area artists.
