ડગલો (DAGLO), એટલે “દેસી અમેરિકન્સ ઓફ ગુજરાતી લેન્ગ્વેજ ઓરિજીન”, નૉન-પ્રોફિટ સંસ્થા છે જે મિલ્પિટાસ, કેલિફોર્નિયામાં સ્થિત છે. આ સંસ્થા 509(a)(2) પબ્લિક ચેરિટી તરીકે નોંધાયેલ છે. “ડગલો” નામ પારંપરિક ગુજરાતી ઓવરકોટથી પ્રેરિત છે, જે વારસો અને કલાત્મક અભિવ્યક્તિનું પ્રતિક છે.
ડગલો ની સ્થાપના ઘણા વર્ષો પહેલાં બે એરિયામાં વસતા ઉત્સાહી ગુજરાતી ભાષા પ્રેમી દ્વારા કરવામાં આવી હતી, જેમ કે પ્રજ્ઞાબેન દાદભાવાલા, શરદભાઈ દાદભાવાલા, ડિમ્પલ પટેલ, સંદીપ શાહ, શ્રુતિ શેઠ, જયશ્રી ભક્તા સ્વ. મહેન્દ્ર મેહતા અને સ્વ. રાજા સોલંકી. વધુ માહિતી ડગલોએ સતત ગુજરાતી કળાઓ, જેમ કે કાવ્ય, સંગીત, નાટક અને સમુદાયીય એકતાને પ્રોત્સાહન આપ્યું છે. વર્ષો દરમિયાન ઘણા પ્રતિભાશાળી બે એરિયાના કલાકારો એ ડગલોમાં ભાગ લઈને તેમનું યોગદાન આપ્યું છે.
ડગલોનું નેતૃત્વ છેલ્લા ઘણા વર્ષોથી સ્વ. શ્રી રાજાભાઈ સોલંકીએ કર્યું હતું, જેમનું અવસાન નવેમ્બર ૨૦૨૩માં થયું. તેમના સુવર્ણ વારસાને સન્માન આપતાં, ડગલો આજે પણ ગુજરાતી સંસ્કૃતિને સમુદાયની સાથે ઉજવવાનું કાર્ય, સતત કરી રહ્યો છે. સ્વ. શ્રી રાજાભાઈ સોલંકી તથા અન્ય અગ્રણી વડીલ વર્ગ ના આશીર્વાદ સાથે, ડગલો ની ટીમ ગૌરવ ભેર આપણી સાંસ્કૃતિક પરંપરાનો પ્રકાશ આગળ ધપાવી રહી છે – સંગીતમય કાર્યક્રમો અને ઇવેન્ટ્સ દ્વારા ગુજરાતી સંસ્કૃતિ અને તેનો ઐતિહાસિક વારસો ઉજવી રહી છે.
DAGLO, which stands for Desi Americans of Gujarati Language Origin, is a non-profit organization rooted in Milpitas, California, with a 509(a)(2) public charity status allowing tax-deductible donations, upon request. The name “DAGLO” reflects a cultural connection, referencing a traditional Gujarati overcoat associated with heritage and artistic expression. Founded years ago by Gujarati leaders in the Bay Area, including Pragna Dadbhawala, Sharadbhai Dadbhawala, Dimple Patel, Sandip Shah, Shruti Sheth, Jayshree Bhakta, the late Mahendra Mehta, and the late Raja Solanki, DAGLO has consistently promoted Gujarati arts, encompassing poetry, music, theater, and community bonding. Over the years, many talented Bay Area artists have been a part of and contributed to DAGLO. Guided for the last several years by the late Shri Rajabhai Solanki until his passing in November 2023, DAGLO honors his legacy by continuing to celebrate and share Gujarati culture with the Bay Area community. With the blessings of the late Shri Rajabhai Solanki and many other esteemed leaders, the DAGLO team proudly carries the torch forward, organizing musical programs and events to celebrate Gujarati culture and its rich heritage.

Through our programs, DAGLO aims to showcase art & literature, bridge cultural connections, ensuring that the legacy of Gujarati art, Indian spirit thrives for generations to come.
Our Mission:
DAGLO is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich culture of various art forms of music, dance, plays, literature and traditions of Gujarat and India. As a Bay Area, California based non-profit organization, we promote the legacy of esteemed Gujarati writers and leaders. Through programs, performed by local Bay area artists, including youth and budding artists, we aim to embrace and carry forward the vibrant Gujarati and Indian heritage.
Though DAGLO strives to promote the Gujarati language, this website is intentionally written in English to drive awareness & participation among the non-Gujarati community too.
